HistoryIn 2008, Mihajlo Ljubenovic and Alex Pejic, came up with an idea to create local encyclopedia for the city of Niš, Serbia. They started to work on this project, but the project was postponed because they started their studies at the University of Niš. In 2011, the project was restarted with new idea, to create such encyclopedia for every city in the world on multiple languages.
In August 2011, Milos Dimitrijevic joined, followed later by Dusan Pavlovic. Original plan to make separate websites for each city and language was dropped and those separate projects were merged into what later became Citypedia. The name Citypedia was forged by Milos Dimitrijevic spontaneously and was inspired by worlds largest online encyclopedia, Wikipedia.
